Wild West company outing ends
without casualties (thankfully)
At the end of September, we had our annual company outing again. This year’s theme was Wild West, which of course put quite a bit of tension on things. All Sunshine’s cowboys and cowgirls travelled to Didam (the Rocky Mountains of the Netherlands) to compete against each other for two days for the coveted grand prize: eternal glory (and a De Waard umbrella)!
Singing falsely is pretty okay
After a Wild dinner, the colourful evening kicked off with the well-known karaoke. While enjoying a drink, the top singers could come forward to present their throat ties to the rest of the staff. Fortunately, the music was loud enough to drown out the fake blaring and no one else was really bothered by it.
The battle of the titans
After a short night’s sleep, the next day’s programme was ready in which the cowboys and cowgirls really had to prove themselves. Teams were made, and each team had to compete against each other to collect as many coins as possible. You guessed it: the team with the most coins got the prize. Fortunately, the game was completely rigged so that there was no way to cheat. This certainly did not happen, resulting in a deserved winner (fun detail: the writer of this piece was on the winning team).
It was enjoyment!
We had a delicious lunch and a do-or-die round with on the golf course, the prizes were distributed. We laughed and enjoyed ourselves, and with confidence we can say: order has been restored to the Wild West of Didam!
