Your responsibilities

The Operations Manager plays a vital role in our company. You are an expert communicator with a strong ability to direct, coordinate and optimize overall business operations and collaborate across a wide range of departments. You are driven by the desire to lead a team toward maximum productivity and efficiency. With the current CEO and your new to hire Finance manager, you are the Management Team of the production facility(s). Together you will build a strong triangle, connecting business processes with financial insights, which ensures that the operational processes are set to execute the ambitious growth strategy. In your role, you are responsible for all production (cutting/sewing/packing), production planning, logistics, product development and purchase. In addition, you are working on:

  • Develop, implement, and review operational policies and procedures. Bringing the current production to the next level of operational excellence and facilitate the expansion of the brand De Waard;
  • Growth off the production organization to meet the ambitious budgets;
  • Oversee overall operations; operations, labor, budgets, project delivery and operations strategies;
  • Prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards, and set KPI’s to monitor and improve;
  • Work closely with your team (appr. 55 FTE) and help set and meet daily and quarterly goals;
  • Oversees and reports weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics;
  • Identifies trends and assess opportunities to improve processes and execution;
  • Help create a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale;
  • Identify and address problems and opportunities;
  • Manage tracking of all costs and calculate product pricing, efficient usage of products and waste tracking;
  • Keep track of quantity, quality, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency of usage;
  • Manage inventory quality and quantity, stock management flow.

What are we looking for?

As a person, you are down to earth and very practical in your style. You fit the profile of a “can-do” organization with a high visibility on the work floor where you are able to make decisions and solve problems. You can build on a strong, experienced and knowledgeable team, whom need to be brought to the next level of process organization and scale up of the output. You also recognize yourself in the following characteristics:

  • Minimal of 5 years of operations Management experience in labor intensive production organization;
  • Experienced with implementing improvement processes in a highly craftsmanship driven production;
  • Results oriented leadership approach, ability to lead people by building relationships among managers, partners, and the team;
  • Proficient in English, both written and in speech;
  • Experience with lean principles are preferred. Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, and ERP systems skills are essential.
